Willie's Dawg's is located at 351 5th Ave in Park Slope. For more info, contact Charles Henderson at 718-436-5163, or click here.

Here are a few numbers I keep on hand:

ASPCA National Animal Poison Control Center
888-426-4435
I have called this number multiple times when Riley has eaten everything from pieces of gum to aspirin. You can call a vet and ask questions 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A $60 consultation fee is usually applied to your credit card. For more information on how things like certain foods, toxic plants, and pesticides may affect your dog, go to the ASPCA site here. They are incredibly helpful.

AmbuVet
800-262-8838
800-AMBU-VET
This is an ambulance service specifically for animals. Living in a city, many people don’t own cars and it can be difficult for taxis to pick you up with a dog. According to their website: “All AmbuVet vehicles are equipped with a specially modified rear compartment that includes localized climate control, padding, stretchers and ramps that ensure comfort during the trip. First aid and oxygen are available for more critical cases.
Furthermore, AmbuVet LVTs are in contact with local veterinary facilities and are trained in the professional and compassionate transporting of ill animals. In more serious cases, veterinarians are available upon request for an additional fee to accompany the pet during transit if specialized medical assistance is required.”
